Dr. Kim-Chi Vu was born in Vietnam and immigrated to the United States when she was about six years old. She originally resided in Tennessee and moved to Portland, Oregon in 1978. Dr. Vu has remained in Portland ever since. She attended the University of Portland as an undergraduate. Dr. Vu attended medical school at Oregon Health Sciences University, and remained at Oregon Health Sciences University to complete her surgical residency, hand fellowship and plastic surgery fellowship. During her residency, Dr. Vu was involved in several research projects, including the heparin effect on thrombocytopenia, bioresorbable ribs stabilization in rib fractures, and a clinical study on composite grafting for correction of bilateral cleft nasal deformity.

Dr. Vu is interested in all aspect of plastic and reconstructive surgery. Her particular interests are in cosmetic surgery and hand surgery. She is also interested in minimally invasive facial rejuvenation surgery.

Dr. Vu completed her General Surgery Residency in 1995-2001, hand fellowship in 1998-1999, and plastic surgery in 2001-2003. Dr. Vu is married to Andrew Nguyen, an engineer, and they have a wonderful four year old son and a two year old daughter. Dr. Vu's interests include running, tennis, volleyball, and she spend as much time as possible with her family.
